The New Genie system is essentially the replacement for the artist formally known as "FastPass". Genie has 3 elements:
Do You Need to Purchase it? No. All attractions have regular standby lanes.
Do I Recommend It? 100% YES (unless of course you love waiting in lines) Time is money and the new system gives you the ability to schedule ride time windows to essentially have little to no wait. *Disney Genie+ is purchased daily
Trust me. I know things.
*** Be READY to book both your first LL & ILL (paid) right at 6:59. Strategy is to choose your first attraction LL for an early return time such as 9-10am. If staying on site ARRIVE at park at least 30 minutes to Early Entry time. Once you scan into your first, you can book your next one (or 2 hours after park opening, whichever comes first)
Magic Kingdom - TOP LL picks - Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain or Big Thunder | ILL purchase Seven Dwarfs Mine Train / TRON. Another strategy would be for Early Entry do Peter Pan or Space Mountain and use your Genie+ for other attractions. Before official park opening you can do 2-3 rides easily!
Hollywood Studios - Most Challenging Park right now. TOP LL picks - Slinky Dog sells out in seconds and usually gives you a later return time. I suggest getting to this park 45-60 min before early opening and lining up for this FIRST. Make your first LL for Mickey Minnie Railway/Smugglers Run/Tower of Terror/Toy Story Mania etc. instead for 9-10am. ILL purchases book Rise of the Resistance. ** MOST all LL are full for this park by mid afternoon
Animal Kingdom - LL Safari or Navi River, ILL purchase Avatar Flight of Passage (easiest park to navigate)
Epcot - LL Test Track, Frozen, Ratatouille. ILL purchase Guardians OR do Virtual Queu (if have park reso for Epcot)
** You can ONLY book 2 Paid LL per day so if park hopping choose wisely. For example if hopping from Magic Kingdom to Epcot I would purchase both Seven Dwarfs Mine Train & Guardians at 7am as you can choose time of return.
